We do not ask you to believe in anything except Recovery is possible!

Good morning, my name is Dan and I am an addict. I am not alone, and neither are you! My primary home group is part of the Celebrate Recovery program, and we introduce ourselves first as faithful believers in Jesus Christ who struggle with certain addictions from lifes hurts, habits, and hangups. Perhaps that describes you, perhaps is doesn’t - no matter where you come from, what your past contains, or what your primary beliefs are, our common ground is recovery from addiction - any addiction. I am a firm believer that the disease of addiction is common to all types of substances and behaviors - our common ground is found in RECOVERY! I am celebrating over a year of victory over sexual addiction, and I have found that the programs of AA, NA, and CR combined with counseling and other available recovery resources have proven crucial in the process of recovery for me. I hope you have found this blog from a search for support and fellowship in your own recovery. I am glad you are here, and believe our journey together is no mistake or coincidence! Along this journey I hope we can strengthen each other’s recoveries by sharing our experience and hope together.
Before I go too far in my own story, I want to make sure you have the help and resources you need to take the next step in your recovery process. The website that pointed you here contains a wealth of information about local recovery resources through Thrive Counseling, and I would encourage you to take some time and look it over again and reach out NOW, there are people here who want to help you THRIVE in your journey and walk WITH you, so don’t hesitate, you are welcome here!
Did you know that the addiction recovery community is ONLINE during this season? There are AA, NA, CR, Counseling groups, Individual counseling, IOP, and more available to you right now right where you are - join the conversation and receive experience, strength, and hope from others and soon you will be giving it away and living free from life’s hurts, habits, and hangups!
Here are some great current resources for finding groups online. I regularly participate in these groups, and plan to add a few more meetings to my schedule this week - I hope to “see” you there.
Here is a great article I found about the current state of addiction recovery and how to find some great resources for online recovery - we NEED THIS!
Blessed to be part of your journey,
Dan S, faithful believer in Jesus and recovering addict
